(Web Desk): Pakistan and Afghanistan agree to explore a comprehensive peace solution in China talks as both sides avoid escalation.

According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning, both countries agreed not to take any steps that could worsen the situation. She said China will continue to support dialogue and provide a platform for further talks.

During the meeting, Pakistan presented three key demands to the Afghan Taliban. These include formally declaring Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan a terrorist organisation, dismantling its network, and providing clear proof of action. These demands reflect Pakistan’s strong stance on security concerns.

The talks come after months of rising tensions between the two neighbours. Pakistan has repeatedly accused Afghanistan of not taking action against militant groups operating near the border, while the Afghan Taliban have denied these claims.

Earlier, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said that hundreds of Afghan Taliban fighters were killed and injured during ongoing military operations. He shared details of losses, including destroyed check posts, captured positions, and damaged military equipment.

According to officials, Pakistan’s operation targeted multiple locations across the border in response to what it described as “unprovoked actions”. The military campaign resumed after a brief pause during Eid al-Fitr.

Despite these tensions, the latest talks signal a possible shift toward dialogue. Both countries now appear willing to explore diplomatic solutions instead of continuing the conflict.

China is playing a key role as a mediator, encouraging both sides to find a peaceful and lasting resolution to their disputes.
