The Ministry of Religious Affairs has launched a new pilgrimage system from January 2026 for pilgrims traveling to Iran and Iraq. The move aims to improve safety, comfort, and transparency for all pilgrims.
Under the new system, pilgrims will travel only through authorized group organizers. The ministry has uploaded the list of registered organizers on its official website. This step will help pilgrims verify agents before booking their journeys.
A ministry spokesperson said the new policy will make pilgrimages more secure and well-managed. The system focuses on reducing fraud and ensuring proper facilities during travel and stay.
The official added that the system will be enforced from the start of January 2026. No unregistered group organizer will be allowed to operate under the new rules.
Pilgrims traveling to holy sites in Iran and Iraq will receive better logistical support. These include organized transport, accommodation coordination, and improved communication during emergencies.
The ministry advised pilgrims to check the official website before making any payments. Authorities stressed that bookings through unauthorized agents may lead to legal and travel issues.
Officials believe the initiative will bring discipline to pilgrimage operations. It will also help the government monitor pilgrim movement and welfare more effectively.
