The Consulate General of Pakistan Melbourne has announced a four-day holiday from April 3 to April 6 on the occasion of Easter. The closure includes Good Friday on April 3 and Easter Monday on April 6, along with the regular weekend holidays on April 4 and 5.
Due to these holidays, the consulate will remain closed for four consecutive days. Officials also confirmed that Pakistani embassies in other countries observing Easter holidays will remain closed during the same period.
Meanwhile, in Pakistan, security has been significantly tightened ahead of Easter celebrations. The Punjab Police has finalized comprehensive security arrangements to ensure that the Christian community can celebrate their religious events peacefully.
Inspector General Dr Usman Anwar confirmed that full security coverage will be provided during Easter events. Authorities plan to deploy over 30,000 police officers and personnel across the province.

Special security measures will be implemented at sensitive churches, including the deployment of snipers and commandos. Strict checking of all attendees will also be carried out to prevent any untoward incidents.
Police officials, along with community volunteers, have been instructed to remain vigilant and keep a close watch on suspicious activities, individuals, or objects. These measures aim to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for Easter celebrations.
