The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has announced the cancellation of all scheduled power shutdowns to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during Basant festivities across the city.
According to LESCO, all grid station and 11kV feeder shutdowns planned for construction and development works have been suspended for the entire Basant period. Normally, LESCO conducts up to eight hours of load suspension in winter for maintenance activities, but these will remain halted during the celebrations.

In case of emergencies, concerned officers will be required to seek approval from the Power Control Center before addressing technical or operational faults. Without formal approval, no electricity shutdown will be permitted under any circumstances.
LESCO has already announced a zero-interruption electricity plan for Basant, following special directives issued by LESCO Chief Muhammad Ramzan Butt. Dedicated emergency and monitoring teams have been formed to ensure immediate response to faults and uninterrupted power supply.
The decision aims to facilitate safe and smooth Basant celebrations across Lahore, where large gatherings and rooftop activities significantly increase electricity demand.
