(Web Desk): Power cuts return as LESCO announces temporary load management due to rising demand and limited electricity supply.

The Lahore Electric Supply Company has announced short-duration load management in parts of its service area, citing a growing gap between electricity demand and available supply.

In an advisory issued to consumers, LESCO said the measure is necessary to maintain system stability and avoid major disruptions in the power distribution network. Officials explained that fluctuations in demand, coupled with limited electricity availability, have made temporary load management unavoidable.

The company assured consumers that the power cuts are being implemented for brief periods in selected areas and are not part of a long-term plan. It added that normal electricity supply will be restored as soon as the demand and supply situation improves.

LESCO also appealed to the public for patience and cooperation during this period, acknowledging the inconvenience caused by the outages. Authorities emphasized that the step is aimed at ensuring a balanced and stable electricity system rather than allowing uncontrolled breakdowns.

Consumers have been advised to stay updated through official channels. The company said further details and assistance can be obtained via its helpline 118 or by visiting its official website.

Energy experts note that such short-term load management is often used to prevent system overloads, especially during periods of peak demand. However, they stress the need for long-term solutions to address recurring supply challenges.
