Authorities in Islamabad have ordered the closure of several major hiking trails, restricting public access from April 12 onward. According to an official notification issued on April 11, Trails 2, 3, 4, and 5, leading to Saidpur Village, will remain closed until further notice.
These trails are among the most visited recreational spots in the capital, attracting both local visitors and tourists. Their closure is expected to significantly impact tourism and outdoor activities, as they provide access to some of the city’s most scenic locations.
While officials have not formally disclosed the exact reason behind the decision, reports suggest the move is linked to ongoing US-Iran ceasefire talks taking place in the city. The high-level discussions require strict security and administrative arrangements, and limiting public movement in surrounding areas is seen as a precautionary measure.

The decision has raised concerns among residents and tourism stakeholders, who rely on these trails for recreation and economic activity. Many are awaiting further clarification on how long the restrictions will remain in place.
Authorities have advised the public to cooperate and follow guidelines as security measures remain in effect.
