PESHAWAR (Web Desk): The KP government has introduced a new driving license system that allows citizens to get a learner licence within one hour.

In a major step to improve public services, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has fully digitalised the process of issuing LTV and HTV transport vehicles learner driving licenses.

Now, applicants do not need to stand in long queues. They can apply from home through an online system. After completing the required steps, they can receive their learner license in a short time.

This new facility has been developed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board with administrative support from the Transport Directorate Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Transport and Mass Transit Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The service is now available on the Dastak mobile app.

Citizens need to download the app, enter their details, and pay the required fee online. After digital verification, the learner license will be issued.

Officials say this move will increase transparency and reduce chances of corruption. It will also ensure timely and quality service for the public.

The provincial government has announced that more services will soon be shifted online to promote e-governance and provide modern facilities to citizens.

The main goal of this initiative is to free people from unnecessary delays and long waiting lines so they can complete legal requirements quickly and easily.

This decision shows that the KP government is focusing on digital reforms. Online systems can save time and money. If implemented properly, it can reduce corruption and improve trust. However, success depends on smooth technology and public awareness.
