The crash involved an oil tanker, a passenger bus, and a few other vehicles. Police officials said the coach was travelling on the wrong side of the road when it collided with the oil tanker. The impact was so strong that it caused heavy damage and chaos at the scene.
Rescue officials confirmed that the deceased included women and children. The accident was so severe that some passengers reportedly fell from a nearby bridge due to the force of the crash.
Several injured people were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Emergency teams quickly reached the area and started rescue operations to help the victims.
Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho directed police officers to immediately reach the site. He ordered that the accident area and the nearby surroundings be secured to support rescue work and begin the investigation.
Authorities are now investigating how the bus ended up on the wrong side of the motorway and whether negligence was involved.
