PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari directed the expansion of the pink electric scooter scheme across Sindh. The instruction came during meetings at Bilawal House where key public matters were discussed. The decision aims to improve safe transport for students and working women.
He reviewed the ongoing distribution of pink scooters in Karachi with Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. Bilawal expressed satisfaction and asked officials to extend the program in phases across the province.

Officials confirmed that the scheme will now be launched in Sukkur and Hyderabad as well. Distribution events are expected to take place soon in both cities.
Under the initiative, eligible women will receive electric scooters free of cost to improve mobility and access to education and jobs. The aim is to reduce transport difficulties faced by women in daily life.
Applicants must be permanent residents of Sindh and either students or working women. They must also hold a valid driving license for a motorbike or car.
Officials added that scooters cannot be sold or transferred for at least seven years. Selected women will also pass a transparent balloting process and a road safety skill test.
Free training programs will be arranged across Sindh to help women learn safe riding skills. These sessions aim to build confidence and ensure road safety awareness.
On International Women’s Day, selected women will get a chance to receive electric scooters from the Sindh government. Officials say this adds a special opportunity for participants.

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said the scheme addresses transport dependency faced by women. He added it will provide safer and more reliable travel options.
