The Benazir Nashonuma Program under Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is a government initiative aimed at improving maternal and child nutrition in Pakistan. The program provides financial and nutritional assistance to pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children under two years of age.
According to official guidelines, only women registered with BISP are eligible to apply. Beneficiary women must visit the nearest Nashonuma center, government hospital, or health facility to complete the registration process. During enrollment, applicants are required to present a National Identity Card, child’s B-Form, and vaccination card.
Eligibility criteria state that pregnant women and mothers of children aged 0–23 months can participate in the program. After successful registration, financial support is provided on a quarterly basis to ensure proper nutritional care for children.

Under the program, pregnant women receive PKR 2500 per quarter. In case of childbirth, PKR 2500 is provided, while PKR 3000 is given for the birth of a girl child. Additionally, PKR 500 is allocated for travel expenses every quarter until the child reaches two years of age.
Government health authorities have emphasized that malnutrition is a serious public health challenge in Pakistan. Many children under five suffer from developmental deficiencies affecting physical and mental growth. The Benazir Nashonuma Program aims to address this issue by supporting nutritional needs during the first 1,000 days of a child’s life.
Officials encourage eligible families to complete registration early through the official BISP website or social media channels.
