Basant returns to Lahore after 25 years, filling the sky with kites and echoing streets with loud ‘bokata’ celebrations.

The historic city transformed into a vibrant cultural hub as thousands of citizens rushed to rooftops to celebrate what many are calling the biggest cultural festival of the century. Kite flyers of all ages showed unmatched enthusiasm, while traditional bhangra dances and festive cheers created an unforgettable atmosphere across neighborhoods.

Liberty Chowk emerged as a major attraction, glowing with colorful lights and decorations. Major roads and markets were beautifully decorated with bright flags and illuminated displays, giving the entire city a wedding-like appearance. The festive spirit continued late into the night as families and young people enjoyed kite flying under illuminated skies.

After hours of celebrations, many Lahoris headed to famous breakfast spots early in the morning. Meanwhile, Mochi Gate witnessed huge crowds of young buyers purchasing kites and strings, despite prices rising sharply and supplies becoming limited due to high demand.
