VEHARI: (Suno News) Pakistan’s tallest man Zia Rashid died Tuesday at 37 after a protracted illness.

Zia Rashid was the youngest of five brothers. He was laid to rest in his native village of 94 WB, Vehari.

A large number of people including political and social figures and the friends and relatives of the Pakistan tallest man attended his funeral prayers.

It was a coincidence that Zia Rashid died on the 26th death anniversary of Mohammad Alam Channa, who was the tallest living man in the world from 1982 until he died in 1998.

Zia’s family says that he was 8 feet 2.5 inches tall while some other records suggest that he was exactly 8 feet tall. However, these measurements were not verified by the Guinness Book of Records.

Zia was born in 1987. He was the youngest among five brothers. His brothers grew up with normal heights. Zia, however, experienced extraordinary growth at the age of 15 and reached a height of 7 feet 10 inches by the age of 18, the family said.

Zia experienced medical complications due to his height. He had been suffering from knee pain after the age of 20, the family added.

The family also said Zia had a nasty fall from the staircase at his home some time ago, adding he could not manage proper treatment due to a lack of support from the government and died as his condition deteriorated.

His family and friends described the Pakistan tallest man as a very good-mannered and simple person.
