In a landmark demonstration of religious tolerance, cultural inclusivity, and visionary leadership, the Government of Pakistan—through its Balochistan administration has taken a historic step by declaring the ancient Hinglaj Mata Temple a Global Tourism Site.

Situated in the heart of the Lasbela district, this sacred Hindu pilgrimage destination now stands not only as a cornerstone of spiritual reverence for millions of devotees but also as a symbol of Pakistan’s evolving identity as a country that celebrates diversity, protects minority rights, and promotes pluralism.

This bold and inclusive initiative, spearheaded by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti and endorsed by Senator Dinesh Kumar, marks the first time a minority religious site in Pakistan has been officially elevated to international tourism status. By allocating special funds in the upcoming budget for the temple s restoration, infrastructure improvement, and pilgrim facilities, the Balochistan government is sending a powerful message to the global community: Pakistan is a land where faiths flourish, cultures are cherished, and unity is built on mutual respect.

Dawn.com adds: The decision was taken during a meeting between Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and Senator Danesh Kumar, during which they discussed initiatives to promote minority religious tourism in the province.

The Hinglaj Mata Temple is a centuries-old spiritual site revered by the Hindu community, especially in Balochistan. It draws hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from across the country and abroad every year.

The Balochistan government has taken this step to enhance minority religious tourism and present a positive image of the province on the global stage.

CM Bugti said Balochistan is a land that embraces all nationalities and cultures, and the Hinglaj Mata Temple stands as a symbol of the province’s rich heritage, history and tolerance.

Special funds for the renovation and infrastructure development of the Hinglaj Mata Temple have also been allocated in the provincial budget.
