Khairpur: Attack on judge's squad, police officer martyred, 2 injured

(Web Desk): Unknown terrorists attacked the squad of the Anti-Terrorism Court judge on Khairpur-Larkana Road. One policeman was martyred and two others were seriously injured in the attack.

According to the media reports, the police said that the ATC judge was traveling from Sukkur to Larkana in a car when a mobile phone belonging to the squad was hit by bullets.

As a result of the sudden attack, one officer died on the spot while two officers were injured in the firing. The martyred officer and the injured were shifted to Larkana Hospital.

According to Khairpur police, the martyred officer has been identified as Maqbool Sheikh, while the names of the injured have been identified as Iqbal Milanu and Saghir Ahmed.

As soon as the incident was reported, SSP Khairpur Sardar Hassan Niazi reached the spot along with a large police contingent. The area was cordoned off and a search operation was launched.

According to the police, the attackers managed to escape immediately after the incident. The martyred and injured personnel belong to Larkana district.

SSP Khairpur Sardar Hassan Niazi has told the media that the ATC judge is safe, his squad was attacked, was it a targeted attack or did something happen during the robbery? Further investigation into the matter is underway.
