Karachi (web Desk): A 22-year-old woman, Aqsa Solangi, lost her life after being shot by her husband in Essa Goth, located in the Gulshan-e-Maymar area. The incident is being treated as a suspected case of domestic violence. She was immediately taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

In a harrowing case of domestic violence, 22-year-old, Aqsa, was shot dead allegedly by her husband, Ismail Channa, after a heated argument at their home in Essa Goth. According to the victim’s maternal uncle, Anwar Ali Solangi, the couple had married just six months ago, without the consent of Aqsa’s family. Ismail, who was already married and father to four children, reportedly grew violent during a dispute over Aqsa s presence on the ground floor of their shared residence.

The argument turned deadly when Ismail returned home and found Aqsa downstairs, where his first wife and other family members lived. Enraged, he accused her of disobedience and dragged her upstairs. There, he physically assaulted and verbally abused her, alleging that his brothers had “ill intentions” toward her. As the confrontation escalated, Ismail pulled out a pistol and shot Aqsa in the head, killing her instantly.

Police have arrested Ismail Channa and recovered the weapon used in the crime. A murder case was formally registered after Aqsa’s mother, Dilshad Solangi, filed a complaint at the local police station. Law enforcement officials confirmed that investigations are underway.

Anwar Ali Solangi further alleged that Ismail Channa was involved in illegal land grabbing activities in Essa Goth. He emphasized that Aqsa had faced repeated abuse during her short-lived marriage, and that her death was the tragic culmination of ongoing violence.

On the other hand, Aqsa’s husband has made a completely different claim. Area SHO Abdul Ghaffar Korai has investigated the culprit and stated that during police interrogation, Ismail claimed he was cleaning his pistol when it accidentally discharged, striking his wife with a bullet.

Authorities have pledged a thorough investigation to ensure justice for Aqsa, whose murder has once again highlighted the growing concerns over domestic abuse and women’s safety in the region.
