Punjab is set to empower women entrepreneurs with a new interest-free loan scheme aimed at graduates of Women Business Incubation Centers and skilled female artisans. The Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) will provide loans up to Rs500,000 to eligible applicants within the next two months, enabling them to start or expand their businesses.

Punjab Industries and Commerce Minister Chaudhry Shafay Hussain highlighted that the initiative aims to strengthen women’s participation in business and overcome financial barriers, particularly in smaller cities. During a meeting with the Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) Gujrat, the minister assured that the government will prioritize women’s economic empowerment and address their concerns promptly.
In addition, plans are underway to establish a Business Facilitation Centre and a Women Business Incubation Centre in Gujrat, offering technical and entrepreneurial training. Dedicated office space for WCCI Gujrat will also provide ongoing support for women entrepreneurs, ensuring sustainable growth and professional development.
