Web Desk: The Punjab government has approved a major restructuring of the Punjab Film Censor Board by replacing its key members, aiming to improve its performance and day-to-day functioning.

The decision includes replacing two non-official members after concerns were raised about their absence from meetings and other professional commitments. Officials said the changes were needed to ensure the board works smoothly and on time.

Actress Resham and actor Sarmad Sultan Khost have been removed from the board. In their place, writer and filmmaker Khalid Ali Butt and director Rauf Khalid have been appointed as new members.

According to officials, the chairman of the board recommended these changes after reviewing attendance and overall participation of members. The proposal was then sent to the cabinet for approval.

The provincial cabinet endorsed the summary on the directions of the chief minister, clearing the way for the new appointments. The government said this step is part of a broader administrative review of cultural bodies.
