Motorway Police launches dashcam initiative to prevent traffic accidents
(Web Desk): Pakistan’s Motorway Police installs dashcams in buses to monitor drivers, ensure compliance with traffic regulations, and reduce road accidents nationwide.

In a major move to improve road safety, Pakistan’s Motorway Police has begun installing dashcams in passenger buses to curb traffic accidents caused by driver negligence and carelessness. The initiative aims to enhance monitoring systems, ensure compliance with traffic regulations, and ultimately save lives on highways and motorways.

According to DIG Motorway Police Syed Fareed Ali, dashcams will continuously monitor drivers’ performance, with specialized software storing complete driver data. Passenger bus owners are now required to install dashcams in every bus, and the presence of two drivers per bus has been made mandatory. Vehicles will not be allowed on motorways or highways without a valid fitness certificate.

“Many drivers are illiterate and lack training, making it crucial to implement continuous monitoring and corrective measures,” Syed Fareed Ali said. The Motorway Police stress that modern technology, like dashcams, combined with strict enforcement of traffic laws, can significantly reduce accidents caused by speeding, reckless driving, and traffic violations.

The dashcam initiative is expected to set a precedent for nationwide traffic safety, promoting accountability among drivers and safeguarding passengers across Pakistan.
