KP CM voices concerns over ‘arbitrary arrest’ in letter to PM

PESHAWAR (Web Desk): In a letter to Prime Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur raised concerns over the arrest of people of KP after PTI’s protest in Islamabad.

KP Chief Minister Gandapur wrote a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, urging him to stop arrest of people of KP in Islamabad. He warned that this could fuel sense of alienation among people of KP. It would lead to ethnic division which could undermine harmony and national solidarity.

He added that Pakistan is a federation based on the principle of equal rights of all the citizens, no group should be forced to feel that it’s being alienated.

He expressed fear that ‘arbitrary arrest’ could sow a seed of hatred among people of Pakistan.

He emphasised that political issues should be settled through dialogue and peaceful way, urging federal government to not to resort to policies that could lead to marginalisation of a particular group of people.

He urged Prime Minister Sharif to review the policies adopted and ongoing development in federal capital after protest. The “bogus cases” against party leadership and workers should be quashed, CM Gandapur demanded.

He also mentioned that arbitrary policies are being discouraged across the world, and stressed the need to opt the inclusivity for collective development.
