Sindh Governor awards honorary doctorate to Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman

LAHORE (Web Desk): Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori conferred an honorary doctorate on Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, recognizing his efforts in political harmony and strengthening ties with Islamic countries.

Addressing the ceremony, Governor Tessori said Maulana Fazlur Rehman has consistently played a constructive role in addressing political challenges. He noted that leaders across party lines often seek his counsel during crucial moments.

The governor officially announced that Maulana Fazlur Rehman should now be addressed as “Dr. Maulana Fazlur Rehman.” He also spoke about the importance of religious leadership, Pakistan’s economic recovery, regional security, and the country’s role in maintaining balance in South Asia.

This award follows a pattern of Governor Tessori conferring honorary degrees upon prominent figures, including similar honors previously given to Dr. Zakir Naik (October 2024) and late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi (April 2024).
