ISLAMABAD (Web Desk): PTI protest outside parliament intensified as police blocked roads and stopped party leaders, creating tense situation in federal capital.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) continued its protest sit-in outside Parliament House, with senior party leaders and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi actively participating.

After the protest announcement by PTI and opposition alliance, authorities sealed roads leading to Parliament House and deployed heavy police personnel. Armoured vehicles and prisoner vans were also positioned outside the parliament building to control the situation.

The road from Radio Pakistan Chowk to Shahrah-e-Dastoor was completely blocked. Police stopped both citizens and lawmakers from entering the Parliament House area, increasing tensions.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and his team, including Information Adviser Shafi Jan, were stopped from entering Parliament House. Reports said clashes occurred between police and PTI leaders during the confrontation.

Sources claimed that police briefly detained Shafi Jan but later released him. During the clash, his clothes were reportedly torn, which further escalated anger among PTI leaders.

He accused police of misconduct and demanded accountability.

Earlier, opposition alliance head Mahmood Khan Achakzai had announced the protest and said the sit-in would continue until their demands were accepted. He also warned that the government would be responsible if the situation worsened.

This protest shows rising political tension in Islamabad. Blocking roads and clashes increased pressure on both sides. If talks fail, the protest may continue longer. This could affect political stability and parliament operations.
