According to initial reports, she was accompanied by a female party worker at the time of the incident. The two women were near the Dahgal check post, close to the jail premises, when the accident occurred.

Sources said the drain in the area is currently under construction. As they attempted to cross it, both women lost their footing and fell inside.

The incident created momentary panic among party workers present at the site. However, both women were quickly helped out of the drain by people nearby.

No serious injuries have been reported so far. After receiving assistance, they were said to be safe and stable.
