Kazakhstan president arrives in Pakistan on two-day official visit

Islamabad (Web Desk): Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev arrives in Pakistan for a two-day visit, holding key talks to boost trade, connectivity, and bilateral ties.

Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reached Pakistan as his aircraft landed at Noor Khan Airbase, marking the start of a two-day official visit.

President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar warmly received the visiting leader on arrival.

A twenty-one-gun salute was presented in his honor. Children wearing traditional dress welcomed him by presenting bouquets, adding color to the reception.

President Tokayev is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including senior cabinet members and top officials, showing the importance Kazakhstan is giving to this visit.

During his stay, the Kazakh president will meet President Asif Ali Zardari and hold detailed talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He will also address the Pakistan-Kazakhstan Business Forum.

Both countries are expected to sign several memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements covering different sectors.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “The visit will provide the two sides an important and timely opportunity to undertake a comprehensive review of bilateral relations, discuss new avenues for broadening cooperation, particularly in trade, logistics, regional connectivity, people-to-people contacts, and explore collaboration at regional and international forums.”

The ministry added, “The forthcoming visit reflects the strengthening bonds between Pakistan and Kazakhstan, their mutual commitment to transforming historic and cultural affinities into robust cooperation, and their common desire for peace and progress in the region.”

In September, during a visit by then Kazakh deputy Prime Minister Murat Nurtleu, Pakistan and Kazakhstan had signed an Action Plan of Cooperation to further strengthen bilateral ties.
