Imran Khan jail meeting day prompted extraordinary security measures at Adiala Jail as PTI leaders arrived for scheduled talks.
Authorities deployed heavy police contingents around the prison and set up temporary checkpoints at key locations. Section 144 was also enforced across Rawalpindi to prevent gatherings and ensure law and order during the high-profile meetings.
According to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) sources, party coordinator Salman Akram Raja submitted a list of six leaders to jail authorities for approval. These leaders were granted permission to meet the former prime minister inside Adiala Jail.
The approved list includes Imtiaz Sheikh, Musharraf Afridi, Azhar Ghazwani, Muhammad Abdul Salam Afridi, Fazal Hakim Yousafzai, and Owais Younis. All of them were expected to reach the prison to hold important discussions with Imran Khan.
Officials said security arrangements were strengthened due to the political sensitivity of the meetings. Additional police personnel were deployed, and access to areas surrounding the jail was restricted.
