Turbat (Web Desk): Green bus service launched in Turbat to provide residents with safe, comfortable, and modern public transport across the city.

The Balochistan government has started the Green Peoples Bus service in Turbat, making it the second city in the province after Quetta to receive the modern transport system. Officials say the project aims to improve urban mobility and make daily travel easier for local residents.

Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti formally inaugurated the service during a ceremony held at the Circuit House in Turbat. Several provincial ministers and government officials attended the event, including Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Mir Shoaib Nosherwani, Mir Asghar Rind, and Asim Kurd Gello.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Bugti said the new bus service will provide citizens with reliable and comfortable travel facilities. He added that the project is an important step toward improving the transport system in Balochistan and reducing travel difficulties for people.

“This service will not only benefit residents of Turbat city but will also serve people across the entire Kech District,” the chief minister said, while praising the efforts of local lawmakers and ministers who helped bring the project to the region.

Bugti also announced that a special Pink Bus Service for women will soon be introduced. The initiative aims to provide safer and more convenient travel for female passengers in the province.

According to officials, the new buses are equipped with modern facilities. Each bus has seating for 37 passengers and can carry up to 100 people, including those standing. In the first phase, four buses have been assigned for Turbat.

Authorities plan to set up 18 bus stations across the city. The buses will operate along a 19-kilometre route that connects Turbat with nearby suburban areas. The service is expected to help around 4,500 passengers travel daily.

The buses include special seats for women, children, and senior citizens. They are also equipped with wheelchair access, emergency exits, fire extinguishers, and automatic hydraulic doors. Digital screens inside and outside the buses will display route information and bus numbers to guide passengers.

Officials said the final bus routes and ticket fares will be decided after evaluating travel distances and passenger demand. There is also a proposal under review to allow passengers to travel free of cost for the first two years of the service.

The chief minister said the provincial government is committed to launching more development projects to improve public services and provide modern facilities for the people of Balochistan.
