Flour prices have increased in several cities, making life harder for households. The rise has added to the difficulties faced by people already affected by high inflation and rising food costs.
In Multan, the price of a 15kg flour bag increased by Rs100 over the past week. The price rose from Rs1,450 to Rs1,550. Shopkeepers said open flour at mills is selling for Rs120 per kg, while mill flour is available at Rs110 per kg. Government-subsidised flour is not available in the market, which is pushing prices higher.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, flour prices have also gone up. In Peshawar, a 20kg fine flour bag is now selling for Rs3,100, while mixed flour is available for Rs2,950. Within one week, the price of a 20kg flour bag increased by Rs300 to Rs400. Dealers warned that prices may rise further.
Quetta has also seen a sharp increase in flour prices. Over the past month, the price of a 50kg flour bag increased by Rs1,000. The 50kg bag is now being sold for Rs6,500, while a 20kg bag costs Rs2,600.
Flour dealers said prices are rising due to a shortage of wheat. On the other hand, citizens said flour prices increase every ten days, making it difficult to manage household expenses.
In Punjab, flour prices are relatively lower. A 10kg flour bag is available for Rs905, while a 20kg bag is being sold for Rs1,810.
