(Web Desk): Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved Punjab’s first Skill City project to improve technical and vocational training for young people.

CM Maryam Nawaz has asked officials to prepare detailed plans for the project. The Skill City will include modern Technical Education Institutes designed according to industry needs, so students can learn practical and useful skills.

The decision was made during a special meeting where officials gave detailed briefings on matric-tech education and skill development at school level. The aim is to start skill training from an early stage.

Maryam Nawaz directed authorities to hire highly qualified teachers and involve industry experts in designing courses. This will help ensure that students learn skills that are actually needed in the job market.

Under this project, new technical institutes will be set up across Punjab. Existing training centers will also be upgraded into high-quality Centers of Excellence to improve learning standards.

Officials said the project will also include partnerships with institutions in Scotland and the UK. This collaboration will help improve the curriculum and bring international standards into Punjab’s education system.

Students will be able to learn practical skills at matric level and may start earning soon after completing school. This can reduce unemployment and create more opportunities for youth.

Courses will cover many modern and traditional fields. These include graphic designing, media production, fashion design, data coding, tourism, industrial electrification, plumbing, solar water heating, chef training, and health-related professions.

Maryam Nawaz said she wants every young person in Punjab to become skilled and successful in their field. She believes skilled youth can become the real strength of the province.

Officials believe the Skill City project can completely change vocational training in Punjab and may become a model for other provinces as well.

This project can help reduce unemployment among youth. If training matches real jobs, students can earn earlier. Good teachers and proper planning will be very important. If done right, this can change the future of many young people.
