In her statement, the chief minister expressed happiness over the Basant Gala. She said it was encouraging to see families and children enjoying the festival in a responsible way.
“Our safari and wildlife parks are alive with color, culture, and responsible festivities,” she said. She added that the Punjab government is committed to safe and inclusive public spaces while protecting nature and wildlife.

Maryam Nawaz praised Lahore’s residents for following safety standard operating procedures. “I am happy that the people of Lahore lived up to our trust. Lahore is happy today, and so am I,” she said.
She noted that people fully supported the idea of a “safe yet joyful Basant.” Rules related to kite size, paper quality, and a complete ban on dangerous strings were strictly followed.
According to her, there were no reports of metallic or chemical-coated strings. This also helped protect power transformers across the city from damage.
The chief minister said Basant was celebrated safely on rooftops under approved SOPs. She added that advanced safety planning proved effective by the grace of God.

She further shared that the “Safe Basant” model will now be introduced in other cities as well. For public safety, the provincial government deployed 200 Clinics on Wheels and 21 field hospitals in key areas, including Liberty and the Walled City.
Maryam Nawaz urged citizens to remain careful, reminding them that it is the final day of the Basant festival. “The public should not abandon caution,” she said.
