Talking to PPP leaders at Bilawal House Lahore, the president flayed the PML-N-led government over its reliance on loans and its handling of International Monetary Fund (IMF) deal.

On the occasion, the party leaders informed the president about the lack of cooperation from the Punjab and federal governments. They pointed out that their electoral issues remain unresolved.
Zardari assured the leaders of addressing their grievances directly. He said that PPP s capability in Pakistani politics is unmatched. He said that he views criticism of the party as a form of recognition.

He directed the PPP Punjab leadership to collaborate in resolving internal issues. He said, "We are conducting a test of the people by taking IMF loans. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz is not in power. We know how to form and dismantle governments. We will not abandon our people."
He urged PPP workers to prepare for organization of the party and promotion of young leaders within the party’s ranks. Zardari also called for a comprehensive report on the party’s organizational structure, stressing a need for moving beyond the politics of drawing rooms.
