ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has rejected the invitation for talks extended by Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

Speaking on the matter, PTI senior leader and Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub said that the chapter of negotiations was now closed. He added that the government’s intentions were not sincere, which is why talks couldn’t move forward.

Omar Ayub further stated that political negotiations are not based on desires but on strong intentions. He mentioned that the PTI had started talks seriously, but since the government did not meet their demands, they will not engage in talks anymore.

It is important to note that the government had once again offered talks to PTI the day before.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq clarified that they had never closed the doors for negotiations, and the negotiation committee has not been dissolved. He mentioned that the PTI will approach them once approval comes from within their party, and that PTI founder Imran Khan is a tough person. He also said that PTI members are still in contact, and their communication has not been cut off.

It should be remembered that on January 28, talks were supposed to take place between the government and PTI. However, Imran Khan announced the end of negotiations after the parliamentary committee was not formed.
