Two former Adiala Jail officials arrested for aiding Imran Khan
RAWALPINDI: (Suno News) Two ex-officials of Adiala Jail have been taken into custody for interrogation on the accusation of providing facilities to former prime minister Imran Khan beyond the jail manual.

According to the jail sources, former deputy superintendent Muhammad Akram and former assistant superintendent Bilal were removed from their posts on June 20 and ordered to report to the IG office.

After the investigation, departmental action will also be taken against both of them. Former deputy superintendent Muhammad Akram was posted on the security supervision of the PTI founder. He had direct access to Imran Khan’s cell.

The two officers will be interrogated about the nature of their contacts with the PTI founder, apart from the prison manual and the provision of facilities. The Department of Prisons has not issued any statement in this regard.

It is to be noted here that the scope of investigations was widened after the publication of an article in a foreign journal by the PTI founder imprisoned in Adiala Jail.

The former deputy superintendent was also seen whispering to the PTI founder during a hearing in the courtroom. Sources said the two former Adiala Jail officials are also accused of giving cell phone access to the PTI founder.
