ECC approves relief package of Rs26 per unit for electricity consumers
LAHORE (Suno News): The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet approved a relief package for electricity consumers by up to Rs26 per unit.

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb presided over the ECC meeting, where the committee approved the relief package for consumers for winter season.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced reduction in electricity prices for winter season to provide relief to people.

The package will be effective from December 2024 to February 2025, with the purpose of provision of relief to domestic, commercial, and industrial consumers during the winter season.

Under the relief package, domestic consumers would be charged with a flat rate of Rs26.07 per unit, saving Rs11.42 to Rs26 per unit on various tariff slabs.

A relief of Rs5.72 to Rs15.05 per unit has been given to the industrial consumers and commercial users will be able to save Rs13.46 to Rs22.71 per unit
