According to party insiders, an informal meeting of PTI lawmakers was held at Parliament House, where Marwat’s potential rejoining of the party was discussed in detail.
During the meeting, members unanimously agreed that Sher Afzal Marwat should be reinstated, and a formal recommendation should be sent to PTI founder and former chairman Imran Khan.
Among those who voiced support were Barrister Gohar, Shehryar Afridi, Asad Qaiser, Dr. Nisar Jatt, and other senior PTI leaders.
However, the discussion also revealed some internal reservations. A few lawmakers suggested that Marwat should give assurances that he would refrain from public criticism of the party leadership after returning, in order to maintain internal harmony. But some members raised a valid concern: “Who will guarantee that he won’t go back to criticizing the leadership?”
Dr. Nisar Jatt emphasized that the group will recommend to Imran Khan that Marwat be brought back. Dr. Azimuddin Zahid Lakhvi also stated that the majority of party members support this decision.
On the other hand, Sher Afzal Marwat responded with gratitude, thanking those who want to see him rejoin the party.

He added, “I also want to stand with Imran Khan. If baseless accusations against me are stopped, I too will avoid taking a confrontational stance.”
Marwat clarified that while he won’t remain silent in the face of criticism, he will avoid harsh language in the future to help maintain unity within the party.
The potential return of Sher Afzal Marwat could prove both strategic and sensitive for PTI. His popularity among certain factions and his loyalty to Imran Khan are undeniable, but his outspoken nature has previously stirred tensions. The party now faces a delicate balancing act — can it reabsorb a firebrand voice without reigniting internal divisions? Whether or not Marwat can maintain discipline will likely determine how long this reunion lasts.
