NARAN (Web Desk): Naran-Jalkhad Road has finally reopened for traffic after a sudden closure due to overnight flash flooding, thereby restoring access to one of Pakistan’s most scenic routes.

The Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) said heavy rain between Naran and Besal last night triggered flash floods that partially blocked the road near Jalkhad and Besal, leaving many travelers stranded.

The road was cleared and reopened early morning with the joint efforts of KDA and the National Highway Authority (NHA). Using heavy machinery, authorities worked overnight to restore the route.

As of now, traffic on the Kaghan Highway has resumed, and movement of vehicles is returning to normal. Tourists and locals can once again enjoy access to the region’s breathtaking landscapes.

Officials confirmed that KDA, NHA staff, and machinery remain deployed at various key locations to assist and guide tourists and residents in case of further weather-related disruptions.

The incident highlights the growing vulnerability of Pakistan’s northern tourist routes to sudden weather changes. The swift action by authorities helped avoid major chaos, but the need for early warning systems and robust infrastructure is more urgent than ever — especially during the monsoon season.
