(Web Desk): The Punjab government has announced a big relief for wheat farmer as during the Rabi 2025–26 season, farmers will get a subsidy of Rs3,000 per bag on DAP (Diammonium Phosphate) fertilizer.

The Punjab government has stepped forward with a major support plan for local wheat growers ahead of the Rabi 2025–26 season. In a move to ease financial pressure on farmers and encourage better wheat production, the government has announced a subsidy of Rs3,000 per bag on DAP (Diammonium Phosphate) fertilizer.
The subsidy is available to farmers owning up to 25 acres of land, but each individual can receive the subsidy on a maximum of 12 bags amounting to Rs36,000 in total benefit.

This initiative is expected to benefit nearly 98% of wheat growers across Punjab and will be active from November 1 to November 30, 2025. The scheme carries an estimated cost of Rs20 billion to the provincial government. Fertilizer will be distributed through registered Kissan Card dealers, who must maintain daily transaction records. Farmers will initially pay for the fertilizer, and the government will directly reimburse the subsidy amount to the dealer’s bank account the same day.
To ensure transparency, the verification process will be completely digital, using the Fertilizer App, Punjab Land Records Authority (PLRA) data, and NADRA biometric checks.
This effort not only brings financial relief but also aims to promote modern farming practices, helping Punjab maintain its lead in national wheat production.
