LAHORE: (Suno News) The Lahore High Court (LHC) has accepted the bail plea of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Punjab chief minister Pervaiz Elahi in the Punjab Assembly illegal recruitment case.

Justice Sultan Tanvir Ahmad of the LHC pronounced the reserved judgment, accepting Pervaiz Elahi’s bail plea in the Punjab Assembly illegal recruitment case.

It is to be noted here that the court reserved the judgment on Pervaiz Elahi’s bail plea in the Punjab Assembly illegal recruitment case the other day.

During the hearing, Pervaiz Elahi’s lawyer Amir Saeed Rawn told the court that the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) had registered the case with a delay of two years.

“Pervaiz Elahi did not receive money from any candidate for the recruitment. He has nothing to do with this recruitment,” he added.

At this, the ACE lawyer told the court that the case against Pervaiz Elahi had been registered according to the law.

After hearing the arguments from both parties, the LHC reserved the judgment.

It is worth mentioning here that on March 27, 2024, the court rejected Parvez Elahi’s bail plea after which he re-filed the plea.

The ACE had registered a case of illegal recruitment in the Punjab Assembly against Pervaiz Elahi and former principal secretary to the chief minister Muhammad Khan Bhatti.
