IHC declares Pervaiz Elahi’s house sub-jail

ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday declared the house of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi a sub-jail, directing the authorities to provide medical facilities to him as per his demands.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir of the IHC pronounced the reserved verdict on Pervaiz Elahi’s wife Qaisara Elahi’s plea, requesting the court to transfer Pervaiz Elahi from jail to a hospital or declare his house a sub-jail.

The IHC justice wrote in the judgement that Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi is 78 years old and should be shifted home within 15 days.

The court also directed the authorities to look into the matter related to his treatment and provide medical facilities to him as per his demands.

It is to be noted here that in the medical report of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, it was stated that he fractured his four ribs after falling in a jail washroom. It also stated X-rays of Pervaiz Elahi were taken in the jail, which revealed the fractured ribs.

According to the medical report, Pervaiz Elahi sustained an injury on his forehead too after falling in the washroom. There was an injury mark on the left side of his head. He also sustained an injury near his left eye and on his left arm, and the right side of his chest was swollen. His left knee was also injured.

The doctors at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Islamabad and the Benazir Bhutto Hospital Rawalpindi examined the report of Pervaiz Elahi and prescribed him rest for two weeks.
