JUI Punjab Chief Mahmood Mian died, Fazlur Rehman expresses grief

(Web Desk): The Amir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Punjab, renowned Islamic scholar, and head of Jamia Madania Jadeed, Raiwind Road Lahore, Maulana Syed Mehmood Mian, passed away after a prolonged illness.

His death has been met with deep sorrow and condolences from religious, scholarly, and political circles across the country.

Maulana Syed Mehmood Mian was not only a respected religious scholar but also belonged to a distinguished scholarly and religious family. His father, Maulana Syed Hamid Mian, served as the central Amir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, while his grandfather, Maulana Syed Muhammad Mian, was the central Nazim of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind. His grandfather was affiliated with the Madrassa Shahi Muradabad (India), where he also taught Maulana Mufti Mahmood (RA).

Maulana Mehmood Mian devoted his life to the service of Islam, the education and training of students, and the promotion of religious knowledge. As the head of Jamia Madania Jadeed, he played a vital role in Islamic education and spiritual development for many years.

JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Maulana Mehmood Mian.

In his condolence message, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said, "Maulana Syed Mehmood Mian was a great Muhaddith and an exceptional teacher. He dedicated his entire life to the service of the prophetic sciences."

He further expressed condolences to Maulana Mehmood Mian’s family and followers, praying for patience and strength for them in this difficult time.

The funeral prayer of Maulana Syed Mehmood will be held today, Thursday, July 3, at 10:00 AM at Jamia Madania Jadeed, Raiwind Road, Lahore. A large number of scholars, students, and notable figures from political and social backgrounds are expected to attend.
