Govt employees stopped from using social media without permission

ISLAMABAD: (Suno News) The federal government has stopped government employees from using social media without permission to prevent possible protests against the dissolution of institutions, privatisation and the dismissal of retired or dismissed employees.

The government has also ordered action against the uploading of official documents on social media.

According to the Establishment Division orders, no employee can make any statement to the media or participate in any TV and radio programme without approval.

And, no employee can make a statement against the integrity of Pakistan and the government’s policy.

Employees are publishing statements and posts on various social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. which is against the rules.

The above-mentioned rules are also applicable to the employees giving speeches in public gatherings and writing articles in newspapers.

Stern action will be taken against the employees violating the rules under E&D Rules 2020.

The Establishment Division has issued instructions to the federal secretaries, additional secretaries, heads of departments and chief secretaries for the implementation of the said directive.
