ISLAMABAD: (Web Desk) Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that Nawaz Sharif could play an important role in the current political situation.

Speaking to reporters in Islamabad, Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated that a consultative council meeting has been called to discuss launching a movement, during which a decision will be made regarding an alliance with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the movement against the government.

He further said that the actual leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is in jail, and the leadership outside is not united. He mentioned that the bitterness in relations with PTI has decreased.

JUI-F head said that statements will not affect the potential alliance with PTI, and if anyone makes a statement against him, PTI should take notice.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman added that a decision regarding launching the movement will be made after Eid, and if unilateral decisions are not stopped, there will be an escalation in national politics.

Discussing the current situation in Balochistan, he said that talks should be held regarding the issues in Balochistan, and if the state agrees, they may consider playing a role in the matter of Afghanistan.
