Speaking through his official social media handle on X, he said that he, along with 150 companions of the Global Sumud Flotilla, had safely reached Jordan after spending five harrowing days in Israel’s notorious Negev prison.

Mushtaq Ahmed recounted the severe torture they endured during detention. “Our hands were tied behind our backs with handcuffs, our feet were chained, and our eyes were blindfolded,” he said. “They even unleashed dogs on us. We were subjected to the worst kind of physical and mental torture.”
He further revealed that the detainees launched a three-day hunger strike to protest the inhumane treatment, as they were denied access to food, water, and essential medicines. “We were cut off from basic necessities,” he said, describing the grim prison conditions.
Despite the suffering, the former senator remained resolute. “We have been released, but the struggle for Palestine’s freedom will continue,” he declared. “We will keep breaking the blockade and return to Gaza again and again. The resistance will not stop.”
Mushtaq Ahmed announced that upon returning to Pakistan, he will share complete details of his journey and the brutality faced during Israeli imprisonment.
It is worth mentioning that Mushtaq Ahmed Khan was part of the Global Sumud Flotilla that had sailed from Spain to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza. However, before reaching their destination, the flotilla was intercepted, and all its members were detained by the Israeli navy.
Mushtaq Ahmed Khan’s testimony exposes the grim reality of Israeli prisons and the price paid by those standing for Gaza’s freedom. His words reveal not only physical suffering but also unshakable resilience. The determination to return to Gaza again shows that the humanitarian movement for Palestine is far from over. This episode is a reminder that while chains may restrain bodies, they cannot imprison conviction.
