This has caused the citizens all over Punjab a huge inconvenience.
As per the excise officials, the unavailability of the system is caused by the ongoing upgrades and system revamping. Due to the recent changes in tax rates, the department is updating the software, which has suspended activities related to registration permanently.

Citizens have criticized this decision, emphasising the difficulty of visiting Excise offices in the sweltering heat. One visitor said, “They should have carried out the upgrades during holidays to avoid public disruption.”
Due to the outage, citizens cannot transfer or register their vehicles in Lahore, Rawalpindi, or Multan excise offices. Other services affected include tax payments, issuance of number plates and ownership transfers.
It was assured by Director Excise that the system will most probably be fixed by tomorrow and has requested the citizens remain calm.
Applicants have also been advised that until the issue is resolved, they should check updates via official channels before visiting Excise offices.
