The new facility, to be operated by Iran AirTour, is a milestone in the bilateral cooperation on air transport. Ambassador Moghadam stated that the agreement was negotiated after the recent visit of Iranian President Dr. Masoud Pezhakian to Pakistan and with full support from both governments.

With the support and after-care of valued stakeholders on both sides, an all-encompassing agreement was effectively achieved in the area of air transportation," he said, appreciating Pakistan for its collaboration in making the initiative a success.

The ambassador highlighted that the direct flight would be a bridge to enhance tourism, people-to-people interactions and business relations between the two neighbors. "This remarkable achievement is for the Iranian and Pakistani people, the tourism industry, the business community, and the private sectors of both countries," he asserted.

Previously, Iran also launched direct flights to Quetta, continuing regional connectivity between the two nations.
