KARACHI (Web Desk): The Sindh Government has declared a public holiday for all schools and colleges across Karachi Division on Wednesday, September 10, 2025.

According to the Sindh Government, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, has been announced as a public holiday for all schools and colleges in Karachi Division following an alert of heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The official notification, released by the Commissioner of Karachi, confirms that the order applies to both government and private institutions.

Authorities explained that the decision was taken as a safety precaution to protect students, teachers, and staff from possible risks during unstable weather.

The PMD forecast warned of urban flooding, traffic disruption, and waterlogging, conditions that often turn dangerous in Karachi during monsoon spells.

The closure also affects scheduled examinations, which will now be postponed.

New dates will be provided by respective educational boards and institutions once the weather situation improves.

Parents and students have been advised to follow further instructions issued by local authorities.

This year’s monsoon season has repeatedly disrupted daily life in Karachi, with earlier downpours leaving major roads submerged and causing traffic gridlocks and power breakdowns.

Officials believe that suspending educational activities for a day will help minimize hazards and reduce potential emergencies.

The Sindh Government stated that it will continue to monitor the weather closely and issue fresh directives if rains persist.

For now, the holiday stands as a preventive step to ensure public safety.
