The PHA has said that those caught smoking in parks will be handed over to the police, and action will be taken under the Smoking Ordinance 2002.
It should be recalled that recently, the Punjab government declared gardens across the province as no-smoking zones to ensure a healthy environment for citizens.
An official notification was also issued in this regard on the instructions of Secretary Housing, Noor ul Amin Mengal, stating that there will be a complete ban on the sale and use of cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vaping and tobacco products in parks.
The notification also prohibited the sale of cigarettes at vending points in tuck shops, cafes, and parks.
