At the distribution ceremony, CM Maryam Nawaz congratulated successful applicants and presented the first three tractors to winners.
According to the Secretary Agriculture, the scheme is open to farmers owning seven acres or more of land, with tractors ranging from 75 to 125 horsepower. Under the program, the Punjab government will provide a subsidy of Rs1 million on high-power tractors and Rs500,000 on medium-power tractors (50–65 horsepower).
In total, 20,000 tractors will be distributed with subsidies under Phase-II: 9,500 high-power and 10,000 medium-power machines. Officials revealed that an overwhelming 734,000 farmers applied, of which 282,000 were declared eligible, and finally 9,500 were successful in the ballot.
The chief minister praised the initiative as a major step toward agricultural modernization and farmer empowerment, noting that access to subsidized tractors would ease the burden on small and medium farmers while boosting crop yields across Punjab.

As per details, 98% of applicants opted for locally manufactured tractors, while just 2% applied for imported, large-scale machines. In response, foreign companies have begun establishing dealerships and offices in Punjab to meet growing demand for modern agricultural machinery.
Officials said the program would not only benefit farmers but also strengthen the local agricultural equipment industry and support rural economic growth.
