
As per officials, the federal government will issue the new petroleum prices on the evening of August 31, after the summary to be presented by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). The new rates will be applicable from September 1 to 15.
Brent crude prices in the global market have increased in the last 13 days, up by $1.6 to $67.47 per barrel from the previous $65.85. The increase was triggered by a report from the US Energy Information Administration that acknowledged a drop in US crude stockpiles by 2.4 million barrels in the week ending August 22.

Petrol in Pakistan is currently retailing at Rs264.61 per litre, with effect from August 1, 2025, after a reduction of Rs7.54 per litre in the previous review. High Speed Diesel (HSD) currently retails at Rs272.99 per litre and Light Speed Diesel (LSD) at Rs162.37 per litre.
Experts caution that volatility of the global oil market can directly affect domestic prices in the next review.
