According to the report, India initiated the escalation by launching a pre-dawn attack on a Pakistani military installation near Islamabad.

In swift response, Pakistan unleashed what CNN described as a “relentless barrage of missiles and rockets,” catching India off guard.

Reporting from Islamabad, CNN’s Nic Robertson stated, “Pakistan’s attack put India on the back foot to the extent that it didn’t even understand what had hit them.”

As tensions soared, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a diplomatic breakthrough, saying both nations had agreed to a “full and immediate ceasefire” after a night of high-level talks mediated by Washington.

“After a long night of talks mediated by the United States, I am pleased to announce that India and Pakistan have agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

“Congratulations to both countries on using common sense and great intelligence.”

Echoing the announcement, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar confirmed that both sides had reached an agreement for an immediate ceasefire.
