Her lawyer, Rana Muddasir informed that Dr. Yasmin Rashid was having severe breathing difficulty.

“She also had stomach and abdominal pain. Doctors at Services Hospital have run several tests on her, and because of respiratory problems, she has been put on oxygen support,” Rana Mudassir told media persons.

Dr. Yasmin Rashid is presently jailed in Kot Lakhpat Jail in relation to the May 9 cases. She was first arrested on May 12, 2023, after the violent events of May 9.

It is notable that the Lahore High Court had directed her release on May 13. However, she was re-arrested a mere few hours after the order in three additional cases regarding the events of May 9.

This is not the first time Dr. Rashid has encountered health issues in the custody of the law. She was also shifted from jail to Services Hospital last year on account of a bad bout of diarrhea. Following treatment, she was returned to Kot Lakhpat Jail.
