(Web Desk): The Government of Pakistan has officially launched the Prime Minister (PM) Laptop Loan Scheme 2025, a move to empower country’s youth with access to modern technology.

The scheme provides interest-free loans of laptops on convenient installments, allowing students, freelancers, and young entrepreneurs to buy laptops without financial strain.

The scheme has been characterized by officials as a strategic investment in Pakistan s digital economy aimed at enabling young people to excel on online learning, freelancing platforms, e-commerce, and digital start-ups. By doing away with financial obstacles, the government hopes to enhance digital literacy and global competitiveness for Pakistan s youth.

Loan categories and installment plan

Applicants can apply for loans of up to PKR 450,000, depending on their laptop needs. The program is divided into three categories:

·        Basic: PKR 150,000

·        Medium: PKR 300,000

·        Advanced: PKR 450,000

All loans are interest-free and repayable through flexible monthly installments with multiple years duration. The main aim is to ensure affordability for applicants from diverse backgrounds.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for the PM Laptop Loan Scheme 2025 has been set for Pakistani citizens aged 18–35 years, including:

·        University students

·        Freelancers

·        Young professionals

Priority will be given to low-income households, while government employees are not eligible to apply.

Required Documents

Applicants must prepare the following documents before submitting their application:

1.     Valid CNIC (scanned copies – front and back)

2.     Recent passport-size photograph

3.     Proof of income (salary slip or guardian’s income statement)

4.     Educational certificates or university admission proof

5.     Freelancers: Links to online profiles (Fiverr, Upwork, etc.)

Application Process

The application process will be conducted entirely online via the official PM Youth Program portal, ensuring transparency and accessibility across Pakistan. Once approved, payments will be managed through a secure and automated system.

Through this initiative, the government seeks to empower Pakistan’s youth, expand access to technology, and support the growth of a knowledge-based economy.
